Aged Care Chef

CCNASA is a dedicated healthcare staffing and support provider specialising in aged care and hospital-based services across South Australia. We partner with aged care facilities and healthcare organisations to provide reliable, high-quality workforce support across both clinical and non-clinical services.

We are currently seeking experienced Aged Care Chefs to join our growing team and support aged care and healthcare facilities across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

As a Chef with CCNASA, you will play an important role in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals while working within the dietary, food safety and operational requirements of healthcare environments.

Specific Skills

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold a recognised Commercial Cookery qualification or relevant Chef qualification.
  • Have previous Chef experience within aged care, healthcare or hospital settings. This is mandatory.
  • Have experience preparing meals for residents or patients with special dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified diets.
  • Have a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and infection control requirements.
  • Be confident working with established menus, meal plans and facility procedures.
  • Be reliable, organised and capable of working independently in fast-paced kitchen environments.
  • Hold a valid driver's licence and have reliable transportation.
  • Be willing and able to travel to metropolitan and regional facilities as required.
  • Have a minimum availability of three weekdays, Monday to Friday.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, food quality and safety at all times.
Responsible For
  • Reporting to site General Manager
  • Ensuring safe and high quality catering services
  • Effective leading and managing site's dynamic hospitality team
  • Managing and mentoring staff, including conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing support and development.
  • Maintaining flexibility with work shifts to meet the dynamic needs of the residential home.
Additional Requirements
  • Previous Chef experience in aged care, healthcare or hospital settings is mandatory.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Current Flu vaccination and other vaccinations as required by individual facilities.
  • Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable transport.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to metropolitan and regional South Australian facilities.
  • Minimum availability of three weekdays, Monday to Friday.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, infection control, allergens, special diets and texture-modified meals.
  • Ability to follow facility menus, dietary instructions and food service procedures accurately.
  • Strong communication, time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary facility teams.

Educational Requirements
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821) or equivalent recognised qualification. Mandatory.
  • Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (SIT40521) or equivalent. Highly regarded.
  • Current Food Safety and Food Handling certification appropriate to the role.
  • Relevant training in texture-modified foods and special dietary requirements is highly regarded.
