Specific Skills

Previous experience in Aged Care food service or hospitality is an advantage.
Minimum 6 months of professional experience in Aged Care.
Valid DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check or be willing to obtain one.
Up to date vaccination as per Australian Government Regulations, including but not limited to Influenza and COVID19.
Must hold Australian Driving Licence.

Responsible For

Assist in the preparation of meals, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
Portion and plate food according to prescribed serving sizes and presentation standards.
Serve meals to patients, residents, or clients in a timely and respectful manner.
Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate meal service and address any special dietary requirements.
Interact with patients or residents in a courteous and empathetic manner during meal service, addressing any concerns or preferences.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including cooks and chefs, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Certificate III in Hospitality
A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate/Food Handler Certificate.
Must have knowledge of IDDSI standards Australia.
Must hold a valid Manual Handling Certificate.
