Specific Skills
  • Previous experience in Aged Care food service or hospitality is an advantage.
  • Minimum 6 months of professional experience in Aged Care.
  • Valid DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check or be willing to obtain one.
  • Up to date vaccination as per Australian Government Regulations, including but not limited to Influenza and COVID19.
  • Must hold Australian Driving Licence.
Responsible For
  • Assist in the preparation of meals, following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Portion and plate food according to prescribed serving sizes and presentation standards.
  • Serve meals to patients, residents, or clients in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, nursing personnel, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate meal service and address any special dietary requirements.
  • Interact with patients or residents in a courteous and empathetic manner during meal service, addressing any concerns or preferences.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including cooks and chefs, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Certificate III in Hospitality
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate/Food Handler Certificate.
  • Must have knowledge of IDDSI standards Australia.
  • Must hold a valid Manual Handling Certificate.
